This is one of the three pieces in our Roots & Connections collection that relate to the anger within human relations. injustice derived from social constructs and others’ oppression. Inspired by the story of Dora Maar– a great artist overshadowed by the success of Pablo Picasso. Dora Maar was a French photographer, painter, and poet. She was one of the most known romantic partners of Pablo Picasso who painted many portraits of her. In the majority of them, Maar was represented as a tortured, anguished woman. Indeed it is thought that Picasso physically abused Maar.
